Crown events

Crown events

  1. There shall be two official Crown Tournaments and two official Coronations per year in the kingdom.
  2. These shall be held on the first or second full weekend of the following months:
    • March - Autumn Crown
    • May - New Year's Coronation
    • September - Spring Crown
    • November - Mid-year Coronation
  3. In exceptional cases, the Council of the Purse has discretion to accept an event bid specifying a date which is up to 14 days before or after the weekends noted above.
  4. Events sited more than 500km as the crow flies from the Crown Tournament or Coronation event site are granted automatic permission to conflict with the event.
  5. Other events shall not be scheduled on any date where a Crown Tournament or Coronation is to be held without express permission of the Crown.

Event hosting

  1. The hosting of the four official crown events shall be equitably distributed among the branches of Lochac as far as is possible.

Bids

  1. Bids from groups wishing to host a crown event shall be collected by the Kingdom Seneschal.
  2. The Council of the Purse shall choose between the bids at least nine (9) months before the Kingdom crown event, and earlier if they think advisable; but in no case shall the decision be made more than eighteen months before the proposed event.
  3. In extenuating circumstances, bids may be approved up to six (6) months before the Kingdom crown event.

Budget

  1. All bids for crown events must include a detailed budget.
  2. The Council of the Purse may reject a bid entirely based on the proposed budget, however it may seek modifications to that budget in preference to rejection.
  3. Any modification to the budget must be agreed to by the Council of the Purse and the bidding group.
  4. After the budget for a crown event has been approved by the Council of the Purse, no changes shall be made to the budget without the approval of the KingdomChancellor of the Exchequer.

Finances

The steward of each crown event shall submit a final financial report to the Lochac Chancellor of the Exchequer within two months of the holding of the Event. If the report is not received in this time, the group may not hold any official events until a satisfactory report is received by the Lochac Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Inability for the Crown Tournament or Coronation to be held

  1. In the event that the Crown Tournament or Coronation must be cancelled due to extenuating circumstances, such as but not limited to a public health emergency or significant natural disaster, and cannot feasibly be rescheduled or relocated within the allowable schedule period per VIII.1, the events will occur as per VIII.1.vi.a and VIII.1.vi.b.
  2. The Council of the Purse will determine the dates and publish the date changes in the Kingdom NewsletterPegasus, on the kingdom website and other appropriate kingdom communication channels.

Crown Tournament

  1. The Crown Tournament will be held at the following scheduled Coronation.
  2. Should this event also be cancelled, the Crown Tournament will be held on a date agreed by the Council of the Purse but no later than the next scheduled Kingdom crown event per VIII.1, with consideration given to broad accessibility to compete in the tournament where travel restrictions may be in effect.
Crown Tournament (with Heirs)
  1. If Heirs have been determined and are willing to reign, the Crown will publish a proclamation within 14 days of the cancelled Coronation event and submit it for publication in the next kingdom newsletter.
  2. If the Heirs are unwilling to reign, a Crown Tournament will be scheduled in respect to III.2.iii C and VIII.1.vi.a.
  3. The Crown Tournament will be held on the day of the next scheduled Crown Tournament.
  4. This decision will be made by the Crown and the Kingdom Seneschal in consultation with the group hosting Coronation.

Coronations

Coronations (with Heirs)
  1. If there are Heirs, the Kingdom Seneschal and the reigning Crown shall prepare and have published a proclamation announcing the orderly succession of the Crown.
  2. The proclamation shall be made and dated within 14 days of the cancelled Coronation event, submitted for publication in the next kingdom newsletter and distributed to the populace via the Landed Barons and Baronesses territorial baronages and shire/baronial/college seneschals.
Coronations (no Heirs)
  1. If there are no Heirs, the current Crown will continue their reign until a Crown Tournament and successive Coronation can be scheduled.
  2. The Coronation event will be determined by the Council of the Purse and may be at any date following the Crown Tournament but no later than the next scheduled Coronation event as per VIII.1.
  3. If a new date for both Crown Tournament and Coronation can be held. (most likely at the next scheduled crown event)., and If the current Crown are not willing to extend their term, a Regency is to be established as per Kingdom Law - III.2.5. Previous sentences made no sense...
